Shooting Investigation in Auburn

On Sunday, December 15, 2013 at approximately 2:15 a.m. the Auburn Police Division responded to Jackie Lee’s bar located at 2514 South College Street, in Auburn, on a report of a shots being fired call. Once officers arrived they located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot, both of whom were transported to East Alabama Medical Center. A third adult male victim arrived at the East Alabama Medical Center by personal vehicle, also suffering from gunshot wounds he sustained during the same incident. Marquez J. Patrick, age 20 of Opelika, died as a result of the injuries he suffered during the shooting; while the other victims, a 22 year old from Auburn and a 19 year old from Loachapoka were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released. The case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division.
Numerous persons, who fled prior to police arrival, were present at the time of the shooting and (or) during an altercation leading up to the incident.
