Burglary Arrests

On Monday, November 4, 2013 the Auburn Police Division arrested Shaheyne P. Thomas, age 19 from Tuskegee, Alabama on felony warrants charging him with Burglary Third Degree, Theft of Property Second Degree and Probation Violation.  

 

At approximately 0920, on the same date, Auburn Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 2000 Block of Lee Road 137.  Suspects were seen carrying property from a  residence, getting into a vehicle, and leaving the area.  Responding officers determined that property valued at over $700.00 had been taken.   After receiving a description of the vehicle, an Auburn officer in the area observed the vehicle still in the vicinity and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.  The vehicle refused to stop and continued to travel along I-85 South into Tuskegee. 

 

The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped in the area of Patrick Street in Tuskegee and one of the occupants,  Shaheyne P. Thomas was taken into custody by Auburn Police. The second suspect fled on foot but has been identified as Daron C. Martin, age 22 from Tuskegee, Alabama; he is wanted for Burglary and Theft.  Other Law Enforcement Agencies that assisted with the apprehension of Thomas were the Macon County Sheriff's Office, Tuskegee Police Department and the Franklin Police Department. 

 

Thomas was transported to the Lee County Jail where his bond was set for $8,000.
