Robbery Investigation

On October 23, 2013 at approximately 10 p.m. the Auburn Police Division responded to the 200 Block of W. Longleaf  Drive, Auburn, Alabama in reference to a "shots fired" complaint. Upon arrival officers met with the complainant who advised that two persons, both known to him and both of whom were juveniles, entered the apartment and demanded property from the complainant.  One of the juveniles was alleged to have brandished a weapon while making the demands.  An altercation ensued and shots were exchanged between the complainant and the suspects after which the suspects fled. 

           

Responding Officers conducted a canvas of the area and located the suspects shortly thereafter.  The suspects were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room for gunshot related injuries.   The suspects were identified as a 16 and 17 year old juvenile, both of whom are from Opelika, Alabama. The 16 year old was treated and released for EAMC ER and transported to the Lee County Jail , The 17 year old is expected to be transported to the Lee County jail today.   Both suspects are charged with Robbery 1st Degree; bond was set for $100,000.00 each.   The case is still under investigation and may result in further arrest(s).
