Governor Bentley to Speak at 10th Annual Ready Alabama Day

September 10, 2013

Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday will join first responders and other faith-based and volunteer organizations at Ready Alabama Day.

September is National Preparedness Month, and Ready Alabama Day promotes citizen disaster preparedness.  Local, state and federal disaster response agencies and faith-based and volunteer organizations will have displays and information available to the public during Ready Alabama Day.  During Wednesday's event, Governor Bentley will also honor the memory of those who died during the September 11, 2001, attacks and recognize those who united in response to the tragedy.

Governor Bentley is scheduled to speak at 1:00 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium on the campus of Auburn University.  He will be joined by Serve Alabama Director Jon Mason, Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier and various other state and local officials, including Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard and State Senator Tom Whatley.
