Lee County Homicide

On Sunday September 8, 2013 at approximately 3:15 PM CDST the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an injured man at a residence on Lee Road 649 northwest of Auburn. On arrival deputies located an individual who had suffered what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his upper body. An adult male who resides at the victim’s residence told deputies that he came home to find the victim and called 911. The victim was identified as Carl Ellis Dickinson (59) of 80 Lee Road 649 Auburn. Mr. Dickinson was found inside his residence where he resided with his wife, an adult male family friend and two (2) pre-teen children. Mr. Dickinson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lee County Coroner and he has been transported to Montgomery for an autopsy to be conducted by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. Mr. Dickinson was employed as a truck driver and was last heard from by his wife on the evening of Thursday September 5 in a phone call at approximately 5:45 PM CDST. No suspects have been identified at this time and the investigation is on-going.
