Murder Suspects Arrested

On 3/31/2013, at approximately 6:10 PM, Officers of the Opelika Police Department responded to 1775 Hurst Street (Brookhaven Trailer Park) in reference to a reported assault. Upon arrival officers located two victims who appeared to have been stabbed. Both victims were transported to the East Alabama Medical Center for treatment. Gregory Antoni Moody, age 35 of Opelika, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. William Herbert Moody Dowdell, age 28 of Opelika, was taken to surgery after arriving at the hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.   Investigation revealed the two victims and two suspects got into a physical altercation which resulted in the victims being stabbed.

            On 4/1/2013, at approximately 12:01 P.M. Kadarrious Douglas Beasley, age 24 of Auburn, and his twin brother, Kentarious Douglas Beasley, age 24 of Auburn, were arrested and taken into custody at Ridgecrest Apartments in Auburn. They were apprehended by Officers of the Opelika Police Department, the Auburn Police Department, and Agents of the State of Alabama Probation & Parole Division. They were taken into custody without incident.

            They were transported to the Opelika Police Department for questioning and will later be transported to the Lee County Detention Facility. They will both be charged with one count of Murder and one count of Attempted Murder.
