Rabies Case in Auburn

Auburn, Alabama, a stray black adolescent cat with green eyes found at Town Creek Park on 12/10/12 has tested POSITIVE for Rabies. There are three known human exposures to this cat, two persons have been identified and are receiving Post Exposure Prophylactic Treatment for Rabies. The third victim has not been located and has only been identified as "Ivanka" from Daphne, Alabama. Anyone knowing this person or who can help identify this individual please contact this office 334-745-0060 in Opelika or the Alabama Dept. of Public Health in Montgomery, 800-338-8374. This individual does not know they have been exposed to Rabies and their life is at risk. Life saving treatment must be started ASAP to be effective. If you know this person, please contact them and the above listed agencies.
