Wright had been employed with the Lee County Sheriff's Office for approximately (10) ten years. He posted a ($10, 500.00) Ten Thousand Five Hundred Dollar bond and has been released from Lee County Detention Center. This case will be presented to a future Lee County Grand Jury. Wright was terminated from employment immediately following his arrest.
Sheriff Jay Jones stated, "We are disappointed that one of our officers would engage in conduct that has the potential to endanger the safety and security of our employees and the individuals detained at our facility. We are committed to doing all we can to insure professionalism in our operations and removing anyone who compromises our mission to protect the public."
