ALDOT Holding Public Get Together to for Proposed Widening of I-85 in Opelika

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) will hold a public involvement meeting on Thursday, September 13th for the proposed widening of I-85 between Exit 58 (Gateway Drive) and Exit 62 (Columbus Parkway). 

The meeting will be held in Meeting Room C at the Opelika Sportsplex between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  ALDOT will not make a formal presentation at the meeting, but citizens will be allowed to view construction plans, ask related questions, and provide written comments. 

The project scope includes the addition of a third lane for both northbound and southbound vehicles and the replacement of the existing bridges over Marvyn Parkway, Norfolk Southern Railroad, and Society Hill Road.
