Portions of West Glenn Avenue and Toomer Street will be closed to through traffic beginning Monday,May 21st at 7:00 a.m. as contractors begin the West Glenn Avenue Widening Project. Glenn Avenue will be closed to through traffic where it intersects with Toomer Street and Toomer Street will be closed to through traffic from West Glenn Avenue to Genelda Avenue. Contractors will install a storm drain along West Glenn Avenue and Toomer Street. The closure is expected to be completed by Friday, June 1st at 5:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes if possible to avoid traffic delays.
The Glenn Avenue Widening Project involves widening Glenn Avenue to three lanes from Donahue Drive to College Street and is expected to be completed by August 31, 2012.
