Opelika HR Director, Lisa McLeod, Receives IPMA-CP Designation

April 24, 2012

The City of Opelika received word from the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) on April 6, 2012, that City of Opelika HR Director, Lisa McLeod, has achieved the international recognition of attaining the IPMA-CP credential.  She is now authorized by the IPMA-HR to use the “IPMA-HR” Certified Professional designation.

“Mrs. McLeod has been with the city a number of years,” states Mayor Gary Fuller, “She is one of those employees who has never settled for ‘status quo’, but has always looked to improve her knowledge and skills through training and extra schooling.  That’s why Lisa, who started out in the administrative section of our police department when she was barely out of high school, is now our HR Director.  We are very proud of Lisa and her accomplishments; but I am not surprised by this latest recognition.  She does an exceptional job for the City and our highly valued employees.”

Individuals who have received the IPMA-CP (or HR) designation have met the professional standards set by the IPMA-HR to recognize excellence in public sector human resources, and have demonstrated to a panel of senior-level professionals their commitment to public sector HR by undertaking a rigorous review of their technical experience and understanding of the importance of behavioral competencies to the role of HR professionals.
