CNJ Tech, Inc Announces Expansion in Auburn

June 2, 2010

CNJ Tech, Inc. is announcing plans to expand its operations in the Auburn Industrial Park.  The expansion will result in an additional investment of $5.5 million, and approximately 25 jobs.  CNJ Tech, Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Korean-based Yangjung Industry Co., Ltd. which serves the automotive industry by producing precision parts, including brake discs and knuckles.

“We are excited about this latest announcement and what it means for our local economy as a whole,” Mayor Bill Ham said.  “Our job market is very healthy.  Auburn industries added 275 jobs to the local economy just in the last quarter alone, and the City has experienced job growth for the past three consecutive quarters,” Ham added.

CNJ Tech, Inc. became a corporate citizen of Auburn in Spring 2008 with an initial capital investment of $15.66 million and approximately 25 jobs.  Since then, the auto supplier has grown as a corporate citizen of Auburn.

“Our decision to expand our production is the result of increased demand from Korean automakers KIA in West Point, Georgia, and Hyundai in Montgomery, Alabama.  Our Auburn manufacturing facility strategically places us in a position to grow our company, and provide additional jobs,” said Mr. Gyu Yong Chung, President and CEO of CNJ Tech, Inc.
