Hoerbiger Automotive Comfort Systems Expands Operations

April 29, 2010

HOERBIGER Automotive Comfort Systems is announcing that it will be expanding its facility in Auburn by 9,600 square feet to allow for an increased manufacturing capacity. The company anticipates the creation of 25 additional jobs through this expansion.

The automotive parts supplier produces hydraulic systems for the power closure segments, primarily drive systems for convertible roofs and power lift gates.  The German-based manufacturer is making the expansion as a result of a significant increase in demand of its product portfolio.  HOERBIGER supplies hydraulic systems for the power liftgate for five vehicles from General Motors.  HOERBIGER is investing $500,000 in its on-site expansion.

When HOERBIGER Automotive Comfort Systems opened its first North American facility in Auburn in 2002, the company initially supplied BMW in Spartanburg, SC.  This is the second expansion of HOERBIGER in Auburn.  The company currently employs 125 people. HOERBIGER Automotive Comfort Systems is part of the HOERBIGER Group with annual sales at approximately $1.02 billion and about 6,500 employees globally.
