City to REMOVE Political Signs in Right of Ways

The City of Opelika would like to remind everyone that placing signs in the City of Opelika Right of Way and on utility poles is against the law in the City of Opelika, and citations will be issued to anyone placing their signage in these restricted areas!  The maximum fine for this misdemeanor offense is up to $250 plus court costs.

            All political candidates are responsible for making sure their supporters are aware of this law and that NONE of their political signs are placed in restricted areas!  All signs found in the city ROW or on Utility poles will be removed immediately.
