Auburn-Opelika This Morning Wins Fourth Consecutive ABBY Award

Auburn-Opelika This Morning, the weekday morning show on WANI NewsTalk 1400, was awarded its fourth consecutive ABBY Award by the Alabama Broadcaster’s Association. Radio and television professionals from across the state convened for the presentation of the “Best in Broadcasting Awards” this past Saturday at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham.
Auburn-Opelika This Morning, hosted by Andy Burcham along with newscasts by Julie Burns, was named the 2010 Best Small Market Local Talk Show. The morning show, which airs from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday on WANI 1400 AM and 98.7 FM, features live local guests daily, numerous local features and local news in partnership with the Opelika-Auburn News.
“We’re extremely pleased to have won this award four consecutive years,” said Mike Hubbard, President of Auburn Network, Inc., parent company of WANI. “Andy Burcham does an excellent job as both station manager and host of the show, and the dedication to quality and service is evident and appreciated by our loyal listeners. WANI was named the Radio Station-of-the-Year in 2009.
